It Begins

I always wanted to have a blog for myself. And, except for a short stint at blogging back in 2012, having a blog has always been an unrealised wish for me. Finally, with all the spare time that I have now and that I may have later, I am coming up with this blog.

Flight of ideas is a term that we use to describe a phenomenology seen in patients with mental illness, whereby they start having a rapid flow of thoughts and connection between successive thoughts is usually by a chance factor.

Just as this phenomenology, this blog is going to be a place where I will dump some of my thoughts or experiences and chances are that there are going to be little connection between successive posts.

Speaking of beginning, it is worthy to mention that as I am beginning this blog I am also beginning a second round of my duties at the COVID-19 hospital of our district, where I’ll be posted for the next 9 days taking care of the patients.

My first experience was a life changing one. After donning all the stifling PPEs; the PPE jumper and the gown, the gloves, the head caps, the shoe covers, the masks, and the face shield little room is left for us to move and even more little space to breath. As we see our patients going through all the troubles to take that one breath of air we also gasp for one extra deep breath. There are times when we go through our moments of doubt — “Why do I have to suffer?”, “Why do I have to go through all this?”. But when we see them getting recovered and reunited with their family, all the troubles that we go through starts making sense.

A fool’s sense that requires a fool to understand.
